Audience

A modular interactive multimedia learning program in French for electronic assembly operators who perform solder and rework tasks.

Objectives

Participants successfully completing the program will be able to demonstrate and explain:

  • Solder function, composition, melting behaviour
  • Methods of supplying heat to the solder process
  • Fluxes, role, applications, types, characteristics
  • Soldering tools and procedures for use
  • Acceptable and unacceptable solder joints, defects
  • Safety, setup, and material handling procedures
  • Application and procedures for reflow soldering
  • Purpose and procedures for rework
  • Methods for removal and replacement of through hole components
  • Methods for removal and replacement of surface mount components

Standards

This course applies IPC A-610 for solder joint acceptability, J-001 for Soldering Processes, and IPC-7711 for Rework.
